Another string to our bow. Rope changes are a vital part of the lifting industry and we have a team of highly skilled engineers that between them, have many years of experience doing rope changes across countless types of machinery.

This particular rope change was on a Rail Mounted Gantry. We were given the task to change the ropes (hoist ropes and fine positioning ropes), smooth out the sharp lands on the rope drum to extend the life of the ropes (customer request) and to make sure the spreader was level on completion.

To achieve this task we:

• Firstly created a safe working area underneath the crane whilst allowing operations to continue on the rest of the site

• Placed spreader ground level, removed limits.

• Removed hoist and fine positioning ropes

• Cleaned and filed rope drums and lands as per customer request

• Replaced hoist and fine positioning ropes with new sourced by ourselves from a reputable rope supplier as per manufacturers specification

• Ensured spreader was completely level to customers operational request
